Yes you can do it so that you retain the chrome lip - something that I think looks better than an all black wheel.

I picked up a set for some drag radials and painted them a little differently from MoneyShot:




My Junior Dragster granddaughter LOL, couldn't wait to get out on the track, she even helped change the tires on the Mustang when we got there

^^That's awesome^^ Teach'em at an early age. =-)
I took my 3 year-old Son to a car show last weekend and he really enjoyed going. Since then, he's been asking me EVERYDAY when can he go and see some cool cars??!! LOL

If you are going to paint I'd go Duplicolor over the Plasti any day.

The stock 16" wheels I painted. Didn't flake or fade at all in the 3 years I had them on the car.



Then I got bullitts and did the same thing - looks just as good.

Thank you avalanch3!! That's exactly what I was looking for.

I love the look of yours JimC, but I'm just too lazy and unmotivated to paint mine like that. I'd rather just have them all black. ^-^

JimC, those wheels look great! I am actually in the process of painting mine exactly like that, but with Metallic Graphite instead of black. I'm glad it turned out alright, looks good!

Flat black base and then one coat of Vista Blue on top edge.
