Default Storage time.

Sad to say that just 2 months after I got my baby girl I'll be saying a farewell to her for about 10 months due to shipping off to the east coast, and depending on how I get stationed after that, I might be selling her , but that is something I really don't want to do as she's m first car and I have so many more plans for her once I get back like a complete CS front/back conversion with dual MAC system and so on.

Anyways I got some basic stuff I'm going to be doing for storage:
  1. Synthetic oil change
  2. Moisture pads
  3. Fuel stabilizer
  4. Wash
  5. Cover
  6. Stock tires/jack stands to keep my premium set from getting possible flat spots

I'm not quite sure what else to do, but I did have a single question that I know the answer to but when it comes to important things I'm really over cautious about it: should I put premium fuel in her or should I just stick with regular gas? I'm trying to run her out of gas right now so I can fill up and add the stabilizer.

Any suggestions are more than welcome, I'm gonna ask my sister or mom to go to where she's at and start her up every so often just as extra insurance.

I don't think premium "holds over" better than regular.... and why run it dry if you're putting stabilizer in it? Not that it's a bad idea but you calculate how much stabilizer you need for 16 gallons and put that much in next time you fill it up regardless of how much is in the tank.

In the old days I would say put some dry-gas in there... but seeing as most fuels now contain a good amount of ethanol, it's no longer an issue.

Good luck in your forthcoming ventures.... and thanks much for your service to our country!

Any decent BRAND of fuel along with the stabilizer. And be sure to put the stabilizer in immediately before the fill-up AND make sure you get about 10-20 miles on her after the fill-up before storage. That will get the treated fuel thru the system.

What ever fuel octaine rating you decide on,
make sure it is 100% petrol and not an alcohol blended fuel.

Starting her up will not do any good as it will invite
moisture into the crankcase and unless you get the oil
up to operating temps, the moisture will collect in the
oil.
Unless they plan on getting her off the jack stands
and putting 100 miles or so on her every so often,
nix that idea quick.
Besides, Sisters and Moms have no place in your stang on stands.
That just invites all sorts of new smells and door dings
waiting to greet you upon your return, moisture pack or not...

www.eastwood.com sells THE BEST fuel stabilizer.
It puts StaBil to shame...

Call the insurance company and inform them that the stang
will not be on the road for a while and get an insurance adjustment.
