You mentioned a stall converter.... Am I to understand that they make something to stop you from stalling?
The stall converter (goes in the front of the trans between the engine and trans inplace of the stock one) I am talking about is for an automatic trans only, you can buy one lets say 3000 stall that will let the car with you foot on the brake launch at that 3K but are locked in at that 3k limit.

Ok first I have always been a stick person and I would just like to add the following input. IMO

I like a stick because you have more control over an auto, I can launch my car at 2k 2.5k 3.K 3.5K with this car depending (this is a plus over an auto) how it is hooking up at the track, track conditions, weather conditions, tires I am using that day etc. For a little street action I also have choices for launching at a given RPM depending on the pavement type, traction and conditions. I also have instant real time manual control of my shift points at any given time during a race or a quick 2nd run. A good shifter rarely ever misses a gear it is rare thing for me to miss a gear.

I like to add in case anyone brings it up about purchasing stall converter you are still locked in to the RPM limit.
I am only talking about 11’s and up per my experience along with power shifting per my above input.

I'd like to also mention scrming made a good point about the 390RWTQ and Track-Lock and don't let him kid you about the 13.4 I believe his car is really a high 12 second car as soon as he gets it to hook up better.
I'm certainly not saying don't get a manual... or that an automatic is better... both have pros and cons... But when someone tells me my car is not a sports car or a mustang simply on based on engine and/or tranny choice... that's when we start to have an issue... LOL!

BTW... you do admit you've have missed a shift... something I've never done... hehehe..

I know your not you and never seen you say that at any of the other forums, I was responding in general not at you personally I was just making the counter argument IMO for the manual trans.

Point taken and I think I have seen you say this in other forums.
