Default hub cap problem

Anyone know of someone that sells a replacement hub cap, (besides ford or a salvage) that is better made. This is for a 96' 3 spoke wheel with the "flat cap". The ones I get from the salvage are as brittle as the ones that I had to begin with.
I just hate to see my "new cap" pass me as I'm going around a corner(not hard or extra fast either)or coming to a stop.

Ilike your 'cap passing you by' analogy

Do you have a picture of the wheel/cap in which you speak?, I am having trouble picturing it.

You must be driving those wheels pretty hard to continually lose those caps.

You could probably get some 2'~3' long stainless-steel screws and drill a small hole off center of cap.You then drill a small hole andtap into the wheel itself to hold cap in place. I used torun a set of wheels on my '85 GT that had bolts like this to hold the center cap in place. I doubt there would be a balance issue, but worth running by a tire shoppe for their input on my idea.

Good luck

No I'm not driving them hard, it's just that the center cap tabs get brittle and break off and they don't want to hang on very well with just 1 or 2 tabs holding them.
I've always been careful when taking them off or putting them back on.

So they are plastic [:'(]

If you don't remove them often, put several small dabs of clear silicone adheasive around the cap and glue it on. Several small dabs will easily come off if you gently pry on the cover when changing tires or something. Just be sure the areas are clean and dry before you apply. Just use 3 SMALL dabs at contact points around the cap will hold just fine.

Good luck
