Default What the hell?

I just got 5- speed 2002 GT. Now in front of the ignition there's a little switch. Everytime I turn the car off, the key won't completely turn unless I hit this switch. So my question is, why the hell is that there? Is there a reason for it, or did Ford just want to annoy everyone who bought a car from them? Does anyone else have this thing?

It's there to STOP you from accidentally turning the key all the way off while you're driving (switch gets nudged by your knee or an upset passenger tries to grab the key out lol) If the key got turned completely off then the steering wheel would lock in place,, not a good thing to happen if you're driving[:@] Auto tranny cars do that lockout prevention through the transmission selector

Before you know it you'll forget it's there.

There is a feature like that on almost every manual car out there... very few dont have a switch of some sort you push to pull the key out..
