thermostat dead?
started driving my car again for the first time since in about 8 months. had no issues when i parked it. took it to the track tonight, held temp just fine driving out there. when i left, temp came up to 190 so i turned on the fan and headed to the freeway. got on the freeway and the water temp was 176 so i turned off the fan. driving home i looked at the gauge and water was at 146* (according to the pms) and confirmed by my autometer gauge. drove the whole way home and and it never got higher then that.
im assuming the stat is sticking open. sound like that to you guys?
fwiw, i have a 3 core aluminum radiator, 180 stat and standard rotation water pump (got it at autozone, $35 deal)

If the running temperature is lower than the thermostat temperature. It's either stuck open or leaking internally.
Not quite on topic with your thread here but I think running an electric fan while driving down the highway is a waste of electricity.
