Default Steel Bumper Letter Inserts Peeling?

The very first thing I ever got for my mustang was the black steel letter bumper inserts. They looked FANTASTIC when I put them on about 6 months ago. However after the first month or so I began to notice a slight peeling. Last month the peeling had completely finished and now my bumper letters have gone from black to a copperish color. I love AM and have purchased everything for my mustang from them and never had any problems, except for these letters. Granted I live in Florida and they bake in the sun all day, but still I feel they should have lasted longer. Has anyone else had this problem?

Heres a picture of them from around when they first started to peel:

And heres a pic of them when I put in a new exhaust a few months ago:

They shouldn't be doing that at all. I live in washington and had them on my previous mustang(2001) for nearly 3 years with no issues whatsoever.

I just bought the steel ones on ebay for like 10 bucks and spray painted them. After 2 coats they still look new 3 years later. Maybe if you cant get a new set from AM just sand them and paint them yourself.

Hey, OP. Sorry for the delay in responding to you, we were out of the office from Thursday to yesterday and most of yesterday was spent catching up with 150+ PMs.

Shoot me a PM with your order number and I can look into it for you. I haven't heard of this issue before, but being in FL with the sun/heat and salt in the air from the ocean, it wouldn't surprise me if that was the problem. Either way, I'd be happy to look into your situation and see if there's anything I can do.

Let me know. Have a good one!
