yeah it is a matter of perspective.
now see thats just a bitchy attitude. whats up with that?
not my fault(or his) that my (his) parents are wealthy and did well for themselves. They want me to have a nice car. So what?
i couldnt have a stang, or any car for that matter if they didnt pay for it. I have no time to work.I work on getting into college.
Lets see
wake up go to school till 3
3:45-530 tuesday&thursday- trap practice
330-7 monday wed friday-flight lessons
eat dinner at 7.
goto bedat ten.
so time for me to work:
weekends(already do for my dad fixing up an old mill)(yeah i work for no pay because he pays for my stuff)
530-7tuesday thursday. ok lets go with $7 an hour. Thats $10.50x2=21 dollars a week. WOO hoo
thats excluding homework.....
so if you wanna b*tch at me(or him) lets see you pull off my schedule and still make any money. You cant.
Daddy gonna pay for ur ticket too?

Similar scenario with me a month ago. Long story short, the cop admired my stang, "It's a nice car, hate to see it wrecked" and let me slide. Only difference is I'm a working 19 y/o paying the bills on my V6.

Generally cops are just like real humans.....treat them with the respect they have earned,(and they have earned it), and 9 times out of 10 you will be treated with respect as well. Sometimes you will even be cut some slack.
Good Luck and be Careful!!

This is a good example of how a persons views depend on perspective.
You both have parents that buy you new Mustangs, yet you are pissed of your friend because he gets more than you do in regards to the mods his parents pay for in additon to everything else. While "all" your parents pay for is a new mustang and the insurance to go along with it.
Just think of the people who's parents don't buy them nice new cars and/or pay for insurance, then maybe you won't feel so bad.
Not trying to knock you here. I just find it kind of ironic that some people may get pissed with the idea that your parents bought you a nice new Mustang, while you get pissed that your friend got the same thing but with a little bit extra.
Like I said, all a matter of perspective.

hey,
just to chime in...
thats awesome man! im glad you didnt get in too much trouble. What was the outcome with the parents. Mine is no car for a month if i get a ticket and i pay for it.
im 17 also
as for the "daddy bying my car" thing. Yes my parents bought my car. Yes they pay my insurance. My job is school, and i work when i can. I make all A's at a very difficult school. To me this car is a reward for being a good kid/son, never got in any REAL trouble.
As for mods,i have 1600 in my wheels and tires 300 in my louvers 400 in my exhaust. And i payed for all of it. I also got in a fender bender recently. 1500 damage. Guess whos paying.....me. Dad bought my car. i pay to make it better.
friend got an 06 gt. parents payed for it. but the thing that gets me is that he has had the car for A WEEK and he has, exhaust, wheels tires, tint, CAI and tune.....and he didnt pay one cent. pisses me off
just my .02

Also, nobody who has recieved a free car can complain about someone else getting the same thing or more. thats just ridiculous and childish (i tell ya what, just let me be mad at ur buddy since i payed for my car and all my mods, thats more reasonable
). however, I do hate kids who got a free car, and free mods, and then they hot rod around town like they are tough sh*t (or the ones who just buy a used heavily modded car...[:@]) its ok to hate those people
. but thats not jealousy, which is the problem not only above, but with the people who give ya crap about "daddys car". and btw, I worked 29-34 hours a week while taking a full course load including organic chem and A&P and also had ur motor on my transcript
, so i tend to think anyone can find the time if they need to, but hey, if i didnt need to i wouldnt have either. everyone does what they gotta do, and most dont like to do more. its all good
Not knocking anybody, or anything, I think it's OK to share the wealth with your kids. But I'm just trying to figure out the 3-1/2 hour flight lessons. Normally only about 1.5 including preflight and debrief. Probably .9 to 1.3 hrs. average on the Hobbs meter. Maybe you're taking some type of accelerated course.
well, I didn't expect you guys to bash me over being 17, had I said I was 20 you would have said "dude the ticket sucks" and that would be that.

As far as waiting to stop. I'd say you are better off stopping as soon as you see the lights. (As long as it isn't in the middle of an intersection or the like.... some people ARE just THAT goofy.) See, most cops are trained to anticipate a delay in reaction and account for it in when they plan to stop a vehicle. Most, like me, will time it so that they activate the lights a few hundred feet (depending on speed) before the anticipated stopping point. When you continue on, even with your flashers on (showing you see, but will stop on your own terms) scares us, frankly. We have no idea what you are trying to accomplish. You may have the best intentions, but our guard will already be way up when we approach your vehicle and courtesy will probably (and maybe unfortunately) fall by the wayside.
Bottom line... When you see the lights: Turn on your RIGHT HAND signal and pull slowly but directly to the RIGHT!!! From all the men and women servicing... Thank You in advance.

Pop go the lights
There is a driveway ramp, but I can't get in there gracefully, but, remembering your advice, I pull right over, even though there is a safer place around the corner. So, I stick my hand out the window and point, so John Law knows what I would rather do. He tells me turn the corner and pull over, as if it's his idea. "Whatever you say, boss."
Evidently, I chirped my tires at an intersection, and got a little casual with my lane markings. No argument from me. I was a little confused by some construction, and a crappily designed intersection.
Anyway, we had a nice little chat, bet he decided to send me on my way. No ticket. No warning. No shortage of "thank you Jesus"-es from me once he was out of sight.
