Power Steering problem
With a whopping 800 miles on my 2006 GT Premium, I had to take my Mustang to the dealer because I discovered I was alarmingly low on power steering fluid. I had noticed a high-pitched whining sound while driving, and when I checked the power steering fluid, it was almost completely out. I bought new fluid and filled it up and took it to the dealer. They said I needed a new hose. Took a few days to get the hose, and now I'm back in business.
I never expected to have to have a hose replaced at 800 miles, but then again, this is my first new Ford.
I certainly hope this isn't a precurser for future problems.
I love the car, but not a fan of a problem that seems like it should have been caught in their 100-point (or whatver it is) inspection.

Defective parts usually fail real soon after installation. You obviously had a bad hose that leaked PS everywhere. It also could have been a faulty installation. Either way, watch and listen to the steering for the next couple thousand miles so that the "low fluid problem" didn't blossom into a "fried and noisy PS pump problem" or a "bad Rack/Pinion problem." Make sure you get all of the PS fluid off where it leaked too.
I had 700 miles on my 2006 Mustang GT when the power steering started leaking. The dealer replaced the hose (twice) and it continued to leak. Then they replaced the pump itself and the problem is apparently fixed. Three visits to the dealer in three weeks.
