Would I be asking for trouble looking for a care frame/body at a junkyard?

If all you're looking to do is build a drag car. I'd stay away from Chrysler and Ford b/c anything from GM is 1)Easier to find 2)Cheaper parts. 3) More body selections.

I mean you can't beat the price on an old Nova, Cutlass or Camaro body and cheap parts are endless out there. Good luck, I'm sure you'll be working on this for a few years and I think you'll find that the build up is more fun than the actual finished product.

Fox bodies are cheap, light, easy to work on, have a huge aftermarket and the stock style suspension works. There have been many stock suspension cars run deep in the 8's even high 7's. Get a 4cyl car that way it won't be twisted up already and they can be bought dirt cheap.

I wish I had the time and money to start a project car. Here is a few projects I would consider...

1988 Fiero GT
- 88 had the revised suspension
- GT's looked the best
- Engine swap, Northstar, LS1, LS2, LT5, L36, etc...

1980-82 Corvette
- Best looking of that generation in my opinion
- Modern engine/trans swap, LS1, LS2, LT5, with a 6-speed.

1992 Syclone
- Still in my opinion the best sport pickup ever.
- More power.

1998-04 S10
- Make a modern day syclone.
- Turbo or supercharged, at least 300hp.

This is what I was thinking about to begin with but didnt know how the aftermarket was for them, or how well they responded to mods. What do you think the biggest engine I could toss in there is? Maybe a big block? I was looking at one of For'ds 460's or maybe a Roush performance 427?

Yeah I dont have all the money yet, per se... but thats why Im trying to figure out stuff and plan things out now, so that I know a rough idea of how much Ill need before I start. I really didnt want to have a car with just a body sitting in my garage for 2-3 years while I save up for an engine and then another year before I got a tranny ya know? I have no doubt that the finished product will be an extensive project and work me well into my 20's and maybe even 30's (Im 18 now), but I just wanted to get the MAIN parts relatively close together, that way I can at least have something to start learning to drag better on... even if its not a refined final piece.
