Redfire Shaker- What is a DD (not familiar with some terms)? Are the gains the same using Wet / Dry Nitrous? Which is better or should I say worse on the engine? Thanks to all on your post here -- learning lots -- I think I'm gonna go with nitrous but trying to learn the details here. So lets just say that you get the kit and all the gauges, extras, warmers, etc -- What are we looking at here -- price wise?

I'm using the Zex wet system which is made for the Gt its probably the safest system there is. The wet system is the best for our cars, it mixes the fuel with the n02. Brenspeed.com sells the Zex system and he can explain it to you. I'm using his 91 oct. tune with 93 oct. in the tank. The 75 shot is quite safe, you don't need to change plugs with it. The 100 shot and above you'll need to go with a colder plug, and of course a different tune, Brent at Brenspeed has tunes for all the different n02 shots, 75-175. There are alot of safe gaurds built into the Zex system, example the 75 shot will give you about 60 rwhp not 75, the right tune is the most important factor if the timing is not right you will blow the engine.

Well of course theres negatives for both. If your are going to stay low hp jets, I GUESS you could go with dry. But your computer can only add so much fuel. I have heard you NEED a tune w/ a dry kit. Now, with our years cars since you pretty much need a tune for everything. I am going to get a tune for my 100 shot soon to go in. I am a wet kit guy. The cons of wet kits are fuel can puddle in the intake and if theres a backfire, intake goes bye bye.

Now price, if you end up going wet kit and you have about $800. I'd say go with the new plate kit for the 05+. Nitrous express. Mustang Tuning (American Muscle) has it. If you go with that kit and have a manual. About $100 for the window switch, they have a kit that has the other stuff (extras) for about $350+. Gauges, if you get electric for all is about $400, and you want a wideband A/F gauge. Which is in the $300 range. Not one of those that are like $50, they are narrowband and the reading means nothing. The bottle heater will come with the Nitrous express package I was talking about. I have to get back to work, if anymore questions are asked I will be home in about an hour and a half.

I plan on doing the exact same thing as you. Are you using the stock intake? How long have you been running the 75 shot?

I've been running the 75 shot since 9/06, have gone through two bottles. It gives the car a real good kick, however at the strip I got no traction at all just spun through first gear almost went sideways, the next few runs I hit it after first gear, best run was 13.1 108 mph, thats with a 2.1 60ft. With traction I'd be in the 12's easy.
