Default Is something burning ? I cant tell

Hey guys, in the past 3-4 weeks when driving the Stang I keep smelling this odor. It smells like some type of coating is burning. When Im going down the road, cant smell it. But when the car is running and I have the windows down I can smell it. No check lights, no codes, etc. when checking the dash gauges. I looked under the car and cant see anything either. However, I could see the heat coming off the cats and pipes from the headers. But its been freakin' cold here and just figured theyre hot from the car running. Is something wrong ? Thanks

been using your e-brake at all? it's probably frozen and setting your rotors on fire.

field mice do look for places to hide to get away from the cold.

I dont ever use the e-brake and the car is always garaged when Im not driving it. I live in a suburb of St Louis and I dont think any mice would have gotten in there. Plus wouldnt a burning mouse smell really bad ? Not like a coating coming off.... Hell, I dont know. Its driving me nuts [:@] I dont want the car getting F'd up

one time i had a plastic bag/sack from a gas station fly under my car and stay there before i turned it on. it got stuck to my pipes and as soon as i turned my car on and the metal heated up, the bag melted and smelled like crap.

since you say you've looked under there, i doubt that's the problem.

I had a smell like that for about 2 months. I had a crack in my oil fill so i though tit was that leaking down or something. Turns out i had a plastic bag covering about 40% of my exhaust. Takes a while for it all to burn away

My Kooks LT headers still smell like burning plastic or oil. It is getting better though. Has this been happening since the header install?
