Good choice on the GT/CS!!! I am still mad I didnt get one, they didnt offer it when I ordered mine [&:]

So 4k over base sounds real good relatively speaking. Their GT500 is selling for 66k right now. BTW, I've decided!!!!...to buy the GT/CS. I plan to buy the FRHP and FRPP as well. I got an awesome deal. The dealer is still trying to figure out what to do with my trade. It shouldn't take three days. Anyway, I take delivery of it tomorrow. Blk w/ blk/parchment. Polished aluminum 18's. Having the rear spoiler removed. Me no likes. The responses on this forum were overwhelming against getting the Shelby and in favor of modding the GT/CS. I'll post delivery pics when I get them. I can't thank you guys enough for the help. This is my first American car purchase ever. I am extremely overwhelmed at the upgrade/mod options. I'll have you guys walk me through each step and document it all.

I agree. 4k not bad for a low production car. I think if you have the money to do it. At the end of the day your going to have a car that not everyone has

If you are able to buy a car for $42,000 then an extra $4,000 won't kill you!
Just realize what you are buying! The Shelby GT is a limited production Mustang with the Shelby name causing the high demand. Plus all the folks who say "just mod a GT" don't realize what mods will be needed! Here's the long list of parts in the photo. Y'all keep forgetting the suspension!!!
If you think you can buy and install all those parts on a GT that you could get for maybe 2-3 grand off sticker (assuming they even have one with the options you want on the dealer's lot) for less than $12,000 then go that way. Or even better, buy a used 2006 GT for more savings! You're going to mod it, so the warranty will be worhtless anyway...

I'm not going to get the Shelby GT or the GT500 because those are much too rare to be driven daily. And I've only seen one with the Navigation and auto.

Just a little nit picking here, Ford is now saying the Shelby GT is 319 HP not 325. I don't think that a production run of 10,000 cars can be considered rare.

Do you people remember the PT cruiser? Old people paid upwards of 30 grand for a 17k car because of bs hype.....Shelby will die one day and these cars will not be any more special than our cars....
