I can live with the 05s being a tad faster - with the knowledge that the 07s and 08s are probably built a little better and have many of the early production problems ironed out.

What were the early productions problems that the 05's had? I'm looking for a 05 right now and i don't want a lemon...

I think the 07+ are actually faster. My 07 GT manual 5 speed is the fastest Mustang in the neighborhood.
