The v6's mpg is actually very similar to the v8's BECAUSE the v6 gets such poor mpg..

Power wise -> V8
MPG wise -> V6
Money wise -> V6

Just another thought. IF money is an issue, have you considered the difference in insurance premiums onthe V6 vs. the V8?
