It looks great! 40mmis the more correct offsetbut we can argue that all night!

Shelby didn't "look" at both. The only offset available to them was the 24 when the wheel was released. They stuck with it...

Check out the vids of "navyrxtech" ride on youtube. Those are 20' Razors w/ 40mm offset if I'm not mistaken. I may be wrong, there's really not that much difference. Go with what you like.

And newbreed your car was hella sweet, but had nothing to do with your wheel choice. The razors looked great on it but the other mods were VERY tastefully done. And that paint!!!

What detailing products were you using, if I may ask? The black paint looks like glass in the pics.

Since you posted this twice, argue away, tell us why it's more correct.

Because the Ford engineers spec'd a 45mm offset?

Not much of an argument. They spec'd a 17x8 wheel. And 235/55 tires on a 3500 pound car with 300 hp. I think the 4X4 stance and flimsy *** suspension parts were also part of that spec.

Ok, true. The Ford engineers did a really bad job of spec'ing the suspension on a "performance" car. I hate mine and can't wait to get rid of the soft rear springs and bushings that control the solid rear axle, also a REALLY bad idea for a performance car. The 3-link rear control arm setup, while miles ahead of the 4-link is much better but still they have to factor in the "average" Ford customer that wants a "supple" ride. What Ford DID do was create a VERY modifiable car that can be easily modified to your personal preferences. Like adding rims/tires in whatever offset pleases you.

However, the 40mm offset is correct and I reiterate that it's the right one.

40mm, or 45mm? Of course, the optional 18" wheels have 50mm offset. And the concept Mustang shown before these were released had 20" wheels without the large positive offset tucking everything in. Seems to me that car showed the original design intent. Maybe that's why everything else looks funny - too tucked, and too small for the huge wheel wells.

You're totally right. After putting the 20's on my car (sans lowering) it was obvious thatford designed the car for 20's. And yes, the factory offset is 45mm. I don't think that 18's look "bad" with the 24mm offset. I guess you don't notice it as much with the smaller wheels. And also lowering with 20's has a better effect. Believe me, it's my PERSONAL OPINION and thats all. I went with what was closest to what Ford spec'd. It looks better IMO, with 40mm and 20' wheels.
