you can also buy some 2x8 wood and cut 2 lengths of it to lay down behind the ramps up against the back wall of the garage ...
+1

Or get enough carpet so your ramps AND your tires are on the carpet.
Some with that rubber backing on it. The weight of the front tires
will stick the carpet to the floor and the ramps wont slip because
they are on the carpet as well.

I change my own oil, as do most on this forum. When I change the oil, I also rotate the tires. You can't take the tire off with ramps. Also can't work on the brakes. Switch to jack and jack stands.

Or you can buy a lift. There is one that will lift the car 48 inches, sells for about $1600.00 I thinking of getting one. Just got to get it by the wife. HAHAHA

That's what I did and I ended up cracking the back of the ramp against the 2x4. Go with the rubber mats. That will work well. Clean them and the floor using to ensure they don't slip. Rubber welcome mats work well and are cheap.

Wouldn't it be nice if we all had the moolah to afford a lift.

Ramps are cheaper.

Good idea Johnboy!

I would think a big rubber mat for each ramp would work... if you have some old rubber floor mats from a vehicle give it a shot make sure they are clean though... just a thought

I need ramps to get a jack under my car! I need 2x8's just to get up on the ramps!

You could always just tape off the area where you want the vehicle tires to run (and where the ramps would normally be placed) and put down another coat of epoxy and embed Rhino Grit in it.

Rhino Grit For Traction
$19.99 (One Per Kit)
Instead of flakes or in addition for extra traction.
