Annoyances

But on the positive side most of the 20 replies care about you enough to tell you you should wear a seat belt so you can continue to complain about people minding their own buisness. Besides if you don't turn that airbag off you probably wont have a face to talk out of. They tell you to maintain at least 10 inches from the steering wheel. It's hard to do when you don't have a seat belt pinning you to the seat. You're not really a bonehead but just living life on the edge (of your seat).

Since buying this 2005 Mustang, I got into wearing seatbelts. I mean I wore them before just on trips but not locally.
I made sure I bought the embroided seatbelt pads for it. I couldn't take that belt against my neck.
This guy I know, just took his Mustang out this Labor weekend. He builds them for himself and his buddies and they are made to race. I think they are in the 90's with the hatchback. He won many trophies for his Stang. He takes them to the tracks.
He got into an accident with it and totaled it. They said they are investigatiing it for drag racing over the bridge. He had his dash marked with Nitro. He has the setup for it . It's just the track and it was not in it at the time of the accident.
They said he might have been racing 2 other Mustangs over the bridge. One car, not saying if it was a Stang or another one cut him off sending him into the concrete pillar totaling his car and flipping over on its roof. The Racing Harness and the roll bar saved his life.
But it's so hard to believe he was racing that car (600 + horsepower) over that bridge and going into the public square where there is no room to brake fast enough. If you were going to race it would have been the other direction where you have a highway where you can slow down.
People just assume he was racing cause it was a Mustang and that NITRO was marked on the dash.
Can't Mustang owners just go out and cruise around without marking us as racers.
Anyways, he is going to build another Mustang this winter.
Awhile back, I would never think I would be wearing seatbelts. But after buying this Mustang and that reminder you just do it everytime you get in your car. If you hate seatbelts - get the seatbelt pads. I got mine from seatbeltpads.com. They are based in Canada. They have auctions on Ebay also.
I got the pony logo pictured. ( I actually bought 2 sets for the front and back) I paid $22 /set and $8.00 s&h +$50.00 off Ebay store (cheaper)
I don't know how they hold up with everyday use, but I got mine back in July and they are fine.

I feel naked driving without my seatbelt. I like to do some things naked, but driving my car is not one of them
Wearing it unifies me with my mustang and makes us one whole being

I have worn seatbelts since 76 when I started racing at Lake Hill Speedway and had my 69 Torino Cobra GT on the street. I do on rare occasion back out of my driveway -- stop and put it in drive -- go 10 feet and get this sudden crushing feeling when I suddenly realize I forgot to put it on.
I'll get tickits for not having my stupid insurance card on me... or for "Excessive Noise due to squealing tires"... but NEVER get one for not wearing my seatbelt.
Has anyone ever looked under the dash for the dinger? I had a 79 F150 that would seatbelt ding any time I put something on the passenger side of the seat.. I ripped the dinger out by it's roots in a fit of rage one day... pretty much solved THAT problem..
