Default 2007 mustang alarm problem solved

i was having trouble with my alarm going off shortly after being set. this problem had occurred on and off since vehicle purchase. finally after numerous trips to the dealer and many attempts to resolve the issue on my own i solved the problem. the hood sensor located on the passenger side of the engine compartment. it is a hood sensor of bad design. the contacts are exposed. to fix slide the connector out you will notice it is slightly corroded. clean off with contact cleaner, spray a little into the connector slot plug in and no more problem. at least that was the problem on my stang.

Was this alarm OE, or aftermarket (viper, or etc)?
