2006 GT Wheel Help
Yes I know there are about 1000+ Threads on here about wheels but after going through over 30 pages with no answers that I am looking for I figured I would just post a new thread..
I am finally buying a new set of wheels this week that are 20x 8.5 for front and 20x10 for rear and I was wondering what is the largest size tire you can fit in the front/rear height and width wise that wont rub with stock ride height.. Also what is a good offset for a 20" wheel?

it depends on the rim and the design of it for the offset....based off manufacturer or contact Mike at Cruzin concepts or tire rack.com or discount tire.
Now on a 8.5 inch rim you can go 265 as I have but you have a bit of "overhang" and is a 30 series tire. Now in the back for a 10 inch wide rim you can go 295 for sure and maybe 305 but get a 35 series tire at least in front and 35 or 40 series tire in the back esp. if you have a drop of any type for the front bumper cover to not scrape or the exhaust to not hit on speed bumps etc. Trust me on this!!!!!
a 295/40 tire is about 29.8 inches tall (might be smaller- contact Kphalus) and fills the wheel well in back.
a 265/30 series tire is about 26.7 inches tall (all vary by manufacturer) and not what you want by any means...(that's what I have-see link in sig for pics)
Nitto and Toyo and a couple others make a 40 series tire but some of them are limited to 275 in the back but it is still taller then 27 inches.
So what I am saying is pick a set of rims you like and find the right size tire for them and run the offset the seller or manufacturer recommends for the 2005+ model yrs.....this is the best way IMO....do the research and not on the site unless you find what you want while on the site and ask the member that has them for info on them.
