I have the TCI 850 hp rated trans and 3000 stall....is currently BACK out of the car again. First time only lasted 25 miles....this time.....a few hundred.......Supposedly this time...the weird whining/grinding noises were coming from the convertor........TCI told my installer...So..WHY would it still do it when you put it in neutral and coasted with the engine off?????? NEVER made a noise sitting still either...car HAD to be moving???? This BS is getting OLD very fast.

The only thing your tuner does for the 4.10 gears is adjust the speedo for the ratio. There is no other need for the tuner, so you can set it right back to stock without a problem other than your speedo being all wacky

false, there are some other settings like shift points and such that the tuner generally adjusts for an auto tune with a gear change. you CAN just change the gear ratio but most change more than that to do it properly

This thread has convinced me to never put a different tune on a vehicle by answering the question "What's the worst that can happen"?

Is it equiped with an output speed shaft (oss) sensor or vss?

Just found this thread, seems like I'm not the only one having this problem. Sunday my trans started grinding and seems like it's on it's last legs. OD light flashing and 1st grinds like crazy and struggles going into 2nd

I'm also running a Bama tune. I was always a little concerned about the line pressure, but they said not to worry...

Anyone ever get to the bottom of what the problem is? I'm afraid that I might have to replace/have the trans rebuilt
