i think you've set the record, for the longest
time to plan and execute a hot rod cam installation
(even surpassing me which is hard to do).

there's no reason why you don't end up with
the cleanest and most carefully installed cams
in the history of engine building.

lol! Yeah this has been one long plan for sure. I think the install will go well after all the research I've done and the number of times I read the instructions from FRPP. Plus I have that video I posted on that other forum that I've watched a few times already and will watch it a few more times.

It will be fun and it helps I'll have someone else there that knows all about cams and engines to help me out. I can do this on my own I think but it always helps to have others there that's experienced too. There's no such thing as too much help.

I'll probably print out your write up too to have on hand while doing it. The more documentation the better. Plus your write up has real pics!

It's too bad this journey had to be tainted by idiot scammers. But I'll get my money back for sure and still have hot rods in the end. Brand new ones too!

it will go well and now that we've seen that if
you are not careful, the valve keepers can come
off and ruin your day (thanks to that one fellow),
you'll be watching out for that.

yeah the only major thing that sets my write up apart
from FRPP's or the service manual's, are some nice
pics.

It is good to know about the keepers.

One thing that Ford video mentions and shows is to push down while compressing the spring. I'll be doing that for sure!

I installed my cams w/o taking off the followers. While I did have a follower fall off I put it right back on. All I did was do 1/4 turns in sequence. The engine seems to turn over just fine by hand. Hopefully she starts on the first crank .

Sirking, you'll love your new cams once they are in.

I was going to do this without the spring compressor, but I feel better about doing this for my first time the Ford way.
