3 years and no bother for me... I have been pulled over for speeding a few times too.. everytime I have signaled my merge to the shoulder and also placed my flashers on once I was stopped. Cop said nothing about the lights... That would have been in both New Mexico, Texas, and Florida... Yeah, im a cop magnet.

I hate VA cops, worst I've ever seen. I haven't gotten a ticket for anything and it mostly seems they just want to search the car and then talk about what I've done to it, but no mention of the sequentials yet. I'm sure that will be next. Be very careful if you come to the Communistwealth of Virginia. I can't wait to get back to North Carolina. Sorry for the rant.
I see a common theme with the above traffic stops.

There have been other "almost an infraction" that I've received a good look over, then they just pull away. Is it age or luck?
It's age. If I can see the driver of a vehicle it may change my mind about whether or not I make a traffic stop.

There are certain parts of town where a cop could find some sort of illegal activity in about 1/2 the cars on the road. Could be he's just playing the numbers.
It's not anytime you want. A smart officer always assumes he is being video recorded. It's better to wait until a violation is observed then to make something up.

Integrity is more important than any arrest or citation.

I would put the number closer to 90% of the vehicle on the road. There a California Vehicle Code with 40,000+ laws on it that are made to be enforced. There's almost always a reason a vehicle can be stopped.

Criminals have the court technicalities, cops have the vehicle code.

I agree with other here..... A cop shouldn't pull you over and say it's because of your tail lights. My 2010 came stock with sequential tail lights. It's 100 percent legal. Granted, a cop can pull anyone they want over at any time for any reason, but to say it's because of sequential tail lights is stupid. That's like pulling over a Volvo for the sequential lights that are on the driver and passenger mirrors (turn signal lights on the mirrors that came stock on my wife's Volvo). That would never happen because it's a Volvo. When you drive a car like a Mustang, a car that draws attention everywhere it goes, then you run the risk of getting on the radar of a bored cop. That's a risk I'll take any day. If you get pulled over the golden rule is BE POLITE. It goes a long way. The second you start arguing with the cop you will lose every time.
