Yet it's still considered one of the safest superchargers on the market when used with the frpp tune. Maybe it has something to do with the intercooler. I monitor the temps and have to say they are pretty damn stable.

+1 on the aeroforce. It should come as standard equipment imo.

Gasket cinch is sold by Edelbrock, i used permatex high tack and just put it on one side.

I ditched two of the blower to manifold bolts and installed studs and bolts in the manifold to easily guide the blower onto the manifold to ensure the gasket did not move during placement. The studs make placement of the blower on the manifold a one person job. If you have any spare exhaust manifold studs those work fine. Just be sure to place them in the two most forward holds so they do not interfere with the blower when installed. Do not use any sealer such as ATF since it is not needed and will be a big pain in the *** if and when you remove the blower.

Trace out the gasket before you install it so you can cut one out of bulk gasket material in the future. Whipple wants $20 just for the gasket and then add another $20 for shipping. Whipple customer service sucks IME!

Be sure to relocate the IAT to after the blower as others mentioned. You will not be able to get it properly tuned without relocating it. The IAT temp is critical to any timing being pulled and you do not want the IAT measured at the MAF because it will be way off. Some tuners will not even tune the car if the IAT is not relocated. I initially used the plastic, but pulled he blower to drill and tap for the proper IAT later. Your blower is going to run hotter because it is polished so this is necessary IMHO.

You may want to look into a 8 rib system and upgraded tensioner. You will be there eventually.

Get another belt and keep it in your car together with a breaker bar for on the roadside changes. NAPA and Rockauto have these at a much lower price than Whipple, and you won't have to wait a month for Whipple to finally ship it too you.

Trade in one of those gauges for the AeroForce Interceptor. You will be able to monitor much more at a much lower price and with way fewer gauges!

Start saving for a forged short block. Again, you'll be there eventually.

I went to NAPA this morning and actually found some "gasgacinch". I also picked up a 3/8"NPT tap to relocate the IAT but I'm not going to actually relocate it yet; just make the hole. My tune is for the IAT in the original location. I have a heavy duty tensioner from UPR on the way to my house. As for the gauges...I like having the boost, a/f, and fuel pressure on the dash. I might get the aeroforce later on and put it right below the aftermarket stereo with a SOS custom radio/gauge panel.

I agree about the Aeroforce gauges, I bought two of them and they're sick, I can see anything the ECU can see, it's awesome! I usually watch my fuel pressure, timing, intake temps (post blower on the KB),

I'm also making a small spare parts kit for my car, especially with my road trip to the Dragon coming up. I already got my extra belt and bottle of supercharger oil. I think I'll take out the spare and put everything in there in a tool box along with an air pump and tire plug kit, kinda like how the GT500's are. then I just need a couple of tools for the belt change and I'll pick up some allen keys too since all of the Kenne Bell hardware are allen heads. really to do the entire install was only a handful of tools so I'll just get a cheap set and leave them in the car, nice piece of mind

I don't think you need all that crap day one but definitely put it on the list for things to get later on, especially before a road trip. good luck with your build!

Agreed. The Aeroforce gauge is awesome. You can see just about everything. As stated I watch my IAT and fuel pressure. Good luck with your install. Any questions just ask us. I just finished helping friend on another forum with his whipple install.

Alright guys...I'm at the point where I have to remove the old spark plugs and it's scaring the hell out of me. I set my torque wrench to 25ft/lbs, tried turning the plugs until the wrench clicked and of course none of them budged. I then sprayed some penetrant and I'll wait 15 minutes or so before I try again. Pray for me guys! lol

None of the spark plugs broke! Woohoo!!! After my first attempt to break them free, I realized I didn't put enough force into it. Stopping at 25ft/lbs is not enough to break the spark plugs free. I went back out and turned them until they broke loose. Once loose, I squirted some more Deep Creep into the spark plug holes and waited 15 minutes. After that I was able to get them out without even using the ratchet. I just grabbed the socket extension and turned them by hand. I was pretty surprised how easily they turned. The new plugs are in and I'm a happy camper now. Here's some pictures of the progress. I will continue tomorrow morning and finish everything.

9/16" spark plug socket & torque wrench. New anti-seize coated spark plugs ready to go in.



No broken plugs!!!



Intake manifold removed. I couldn't believe there were rat droppings in the valley under the intake manifold. lol There were also droppings around the spark plug boots.
