No warranty.

I'm looking at a pretty high bill.
The are having to order a full kit for some reason.
I am having to replace the slave cylinder AND pilot bearing.
I actually got to look under the car though.
The guy that is working on it I actually know personally and he is an honest guy.

I decided to go ahead and get the SPEC 3 clutch and SPEC steel flywheel but I am ordering it from AM.

The dealership can't order those parts for some reason but the guy I know told me it saves me in the long run anyways because they don't put their markups on it and I don't have to pay taxes.

My friend has no control over the labor prices but let's say comparatively to what I would pay if I did not know some of the people there... I saved prolly about 25% in labor from the norm.

My bill is still making kinda sick to my stomach though.
Just because I JUST got done spending SO much money.

*Edit*
Ordered the parts from AM
had do rush order it too because my car is going to have to sit in the shop until the parts arrive because of dealership digging into the tranny already.

SPEC Stage 3 Clutch (05-10 Mustang GT)
SPEC Billet Steel Flywheel (05-09 Mustang GT)

Well, at least I won't have to worry about it later on.
And I got a few more mods to add to my sig lol.
(even though technically I wanted the new FRRP manifold first)

Nice stuff your ordering. Did you get the forum discount? It might be too late if you placed order and payed already but theres a 6% discount if you ask for it.

That stage 3 will hold anything your gonna throw at it in the forseable future. I'll give you the same advice I gave my mom.

Thats a stage 3 clutch, it wants to go, or no go. Especialy with the lumpy cams and the 4.10s, off the start give it a little more gas, and ride it out at a slightly higher rpm.

Damn forgot about the discount lol.
Anyway... soo...
Are you saying to let off the clutch faster or slower with this clutch?
Give it more gas I get ya, the other part kinda confuses me.

Another question... I have no idea about the break in and I hear it is important.
Educate me?

basicaly just go easy on it and dont expect it to feel how its 100% going to feel till you get 500 miles on it.

Basicaly what I was saying about its driving characteistics, is not to go for a long or shorter ride out on the clutch, but you need to do it at a higher RPM so it creates more force and lets it slip a bit. If you try to drive it normal when you would go to slip it it would just catch, your giving it more gas now to make some power and force the slip so it doenst grab and lurch ya, or stall out and make you look foolish.. lol. Youll see after the first 5 minutes of driving it. I actualy took my stang out for the first time in 3 weeks today, funny to drive stick again.. lol.

Welp they did find metal shavings in my tranny oil.
I saw them myself.
And other wear damage was found.
I am not taking a risk of screwing up my baby so I will make sure she is fixed.

The sound was PINPOINTED to the tranny with that stethoscope like thing that was put into the hole in the tranny shell.
That is when the other things were done and the problems were found out.

I dunno why but maybe hard dyno runs or something once the cams were installed did it.
Maybe they were already wearing and the cams shaking the engine and everything just brought out the noise.

Bottom line is that a problem WAS in fact found.

Some people say they have the sound with their cams...
some don't. But I was told by every tech that I talked to and other people that this sound was NOT normal.
That gives me the feeling that people that do have the knocking should get their vehicles checked in order to be safe.
Better to be safe than sorry.... and my being safe turned out to be the best thing to do.

ouch, the shavings were in the tranny oil itself, that sucks bro. Depending on what they are going to charge for a rebuild, look at newtakeoff.com, you might be able to get a new tranny for cheaper, last time I looked I thing they were like 650ish.
