I would use regular car soap not simple green you don't need anything that harsh on the top. The window should drop down about a half an inch when you open the door and then go back up when you close it. There is a way to can reset it if you think something is wrong with it but don't remember it off hand. I think you have to hold the button for a few seconds after you put the window down then release it but not sure.

Thanks great info. I will need to start researching on how to properly maintain a new top, because I went to a Ford dealership today and they are installing a brand new top in a week. I could hardly believe it when he said it was a thousand dollar part is that correct? Not that it is coming out of my pocket, but maybe in the future if the new one doesn't last.

I would have guessed double that.

You've got a garage. Have the dealer put a cloth top on!

I would ask to have a cloth, but I honestly don't know enough about either. I have read some about vynl vs cloth but having no experience with cloth and very little with a vynl top I just assumed that the elements would be harder on a cloth top even with a garage.
