sucks man, I know depending on where the strap is inside the new rim, it can be hard to train the sensor, you just got to keep playing with it most likely. When there a pain like that, you have to find the sweet spot. Also, does the tool have replaceable batteries? its been a while but I think they do. You can try going out and buy a good battery to replace the one that probably sat with the tool on a shelf for the last three years and see if that ups the signal enough to get that last sensor to activate.

I actually didn't think of playing with the sensor a bit by moving it around, nor did I think of changing the batteries.

I definitely have to try that. The other tires all worked on the first try, and after 2 seconds, but the first one is tough.

np, I had one that was a pain when I did it, held it at the valve stem, aimed it up, down, close, a few inchs away, waved it around like a medical tricorder in star trek, eventualy it honked at me.....
