My poor baby!

I received the repair estimate from Geico's shop yesterday.
$6041 and 15 days to complete.
During teardown they found that the radiator support had been damaged and would need to be replaced.
The driver side door they found to be more cost effective to replace the entire shell instead of just the outer panel.

For the time being Geico is covering the costs as a comprehensive claim.
Geico considered the car unsafe to drive since the door wouldn't open properly, so they had it towed to their recommended shop.
The truck didn't stop and we weren't able to get the number of the truck so I'm not sure if the trucking company has admitted responsibility at this point. However, we did go back the next day and brought the aeroskirt panel back home. We contacted the company to let them know we had the panel on monday and a Fleet safety manager rushed over to take a look at it. He admitted that they use that brand and model on their trucks.
Geico told me when I reported the incident that they would cover me and then go after the other party's insurance to recover their costs as well as my deductible. They seem to have everything under control so far.

Yeah you don't need to know who the driver was. Better off not knowing as that is a mechanical failure, not driver error and the DOT still would have nailed his *** to the wall. The company is responsible no matter what. And they carry (most) 1 million in coverage. You have a witness so, if they decide to deny, then just report it as a hit and run or something. Leaving the scene, whatever.
