Oil Needed
Obviously Ford is going to pitch their Motorcraft oil, but it's actually pretty good stuff.
I used the 5W20 Motorcraft blend for about the first 12,000 miles (bought my '08 new), then switched to Motorcraft in 5W30 full-synthetic. A little extra protection at high rpms (particularly on the occasional track day) far outweighs any desire for gaining a small fraction of a mpg in street driving. Somebody who was once very close to the modular engine program made it clear that he wouldn't ever run 5W20 in them.

I have a 2014 GT 5.0 Base Model and installed an Oil Pressure Gauge to see where I was for oil pressure........WOW.......with the Mobil I 5W30 I was running the cold starts PEGGED the gauge at 100 PS so I went to 5W20.....not much different!!
I have run Mobil I 5W20 in several cars and trucks and went 256K miles in my 2004 Marauder with ZERO oil usage problems.........the KEY is regular changes no matter what oil you use and Motorcraft Synthetic Blend is fine if you don't want to pay the price for 100% Synthetics!!
