you probably got those Motive geras huh??
If so that is the problem.. and to fix it, replace them ASAP with the ford 4.10's!

I have a 04 GT 5 spd, i just had 3.73's installed and about a week later i'm hearing this horrible whinning noise and it only does it when the car is in gear....soon as i take it out of gear it stops......is this a rear end problem? i'm positive that the backlash was perfect on it cause i watched them do everything what else could it be? my transmission has been acting up (grinding when i slam it in 3rd) could it be a possible tranny problem.....any input would be great..............thanks

RE: whinning
I had a similar problem to that after I had my 4.10`s installed. My problem was when I let off the gas while still in gear, I heard this terrible rohring sound mainly in 4th and 5th. Coasting in neutral, everything was fine. Turned out the pinion just needed to be adjusted. The installer said it was a little too tight. Since it was adjusted there hasnt been any odd noises at all.

i've got the FRPP 3.73's....it's makes the most noise cruising at around 1500 rpm......it's extremely annoying i've just been turnin up the radio latley.....i'll get back up to the shop and have them check it out....if there is anything wrong with it they will fix it for free no doubt....appreciate the feedback

Bull. I won't let you spread crap about motives being the problem. Motive's AREN'T the problem. Some retarded mechanics have a harder time setting them up. FRPP's claim to get the pinion depth set much easier. My installer did my Motive 4.30's and they didn't make a sound, neither do my buddies 4.10's.
