Leave tho OD on all the time unless you are road course racing. The AT won't shift into OD untill it's ready anyway.

Normal driving, i'd stay in drive because you can keep youre last gear. Put OD on the highway and high speed driving. But keep OD off when you want to stay in a higher RPM. And obiously keep it off when racing.

With higer RPM's come waste heat.If you are just driving around town ,to get the best economy, run with the OD on.
