Soft Pedal
After doing a brake job on my 2000 gt the pedal is softer than before. None of the lines were disconnected, however I bled the system in the correct order: both by having my buddy push the pedal, and using a pressure bleeder attached to the master cylinder. I have done many brake jobs and never had this problem before... the pedal has always gotten stiffer, even on my buddy's saturn. Does the master cylinder ever need to be bled? (it looks like there are bleeder valves on the side of it). Does the car need to be running when I bleed it by pushing the pedal? I have the premium pads and 4 new rotors. (I cleaned the rotors before putting them on.) Any ideas??? I know its not just in my head, even my buddy said it isn't like it used to be.

RE: Soft Pedal
Lemme ask you this, did you remember to pump the brakes, after all of this was said and done, w/ the master cylinder cover off??
How about, did you grease all of your guide pins?? Are all of the pads seating correctly?? Do you know if the brake lines are crimped, or compressed in any way??
Re-bleed the car, starting at the REAR PASSENGER Side... Then go to the Rear Driver's, front Pass, then Front Driver... If you STILL have issues, then your MC may be on it's legs.
However, since it was after you've compressed the pistons back into the caliper body, it's possible, that the dust boot could be torn.
Have you checked for leaks??
