Quick and probably stupid question

Default Quick and probably stupid question

If I disconnected my battery for the winter will I loose my tunes that I programmed into it with my Xcal 1?

So some reason my speedo seems off so thats why I am asking.

The xcal should store your old tune in the device and replace it with the new tune. There shouldnt be any way for the new tune to get lost since it will be the only one in the computer.

NO you won't but it'll probably still need to relearn the tune. I'd still hook the batt back up when you decide to use it again and reinstall the tune again anyway. And if you're speedo is off, that means the tuner never put the correct gear ratio in the tune, to fix the speedo problem.

Why Disconnect it? Get a Battery Tender to keep it charged. That's better for the battery anyhow.

Does this also apply if you just need to replace the battery with a new one?

yeah it should be fine if your'e changing batts. usually whenever the batt is unhooked for a little bit, the computer may need to relearn the mods. I really don't know if it's the same it all cases. But whnever I'm working on the car and disconnect the bat cable. I always reinstall the tune just to be safe.
