I just finished installing a convertible top! . Man it was a bitch, on a 1-10 scale I would say it was 6-7. Not recommended for people who are not VERY mechenically inclined. However the top came out great - better than stock. And remember this is on a Freakin Mitsubishi!
Anyway now thatI have some experience those of you who are thinking of doing your own tops - let me know if you have questions/advice Id be happy to help - ill post some pics here later tonight!

yeah my buddy just put a new top on his stang and said it was a complete bitch! one of the biggest PITAs to have to deal with. good job on the overcome though!![sm=massbounce.gif]

Wish you would have done this a week earlier.... I just paid 750 for the second time to have my top replaced in less than a year!!! *tear* Some freakin white trash puto sliced up my 6 month old top and I was looking to try and do it myself but ended up paying someone to do it again.

But on the flip side:
Turns out the place I had do my top last summer did a hack job on it and the new Upolsterer (sp) said it would have been lucky to last a year... Don't mean to rant... Congrats on the new top! I haven't seen mine yet cause my painter picked it up from the shop and trailered it over to his house to paint! 3 more weeks and 2 grand left to give, and I'll have my baby back!!!!

I put one on a Caviler last summer. I'd call it more of a stressful instillation than a technical one. Your thinking the whole time I hope doing this right because if I don't I'm fn up this brand new top[:@]. It's a good feeling to stand back and look at the car and go I just did that I'm freaking awesome
