help - ignition won't turn
I backed my car down my driveway like 10 ft without turning it on because I need the engine to stay cool since I sprayed degreaser on it. I must have tried to turn the wheel or something because now the wheel is completely locked and the ignition will not turn even the slightest amount. The windows are down and I tried with the clutch in out p-brake on off. I tried jerking on the wheel as I try to turn and nothing works. I assume this is some sort of anti-theft precaution but my car is obviously not being stolen - I just need to know how to make it stop doing this. Thanks for the help guys.

RE: help - ignition won't turn
so let me get this straight first. u cleaned it and now it wont turn over and ur wheel is stuck. ok do you have any power at all, to your radio or dash or anything. if you do then you can rule the battery out. if not, look where you sprayed that stuff, make sure it didnt get on the fuse block just north of your battery. make sure it is all clean and everything. if connections all look good and you didnt get any of it on it then look down by the starter for the same thing. if still nothing then unhook the battery, negative first then power. then hook it back up negative first and power 2nd again. reset the computer.
did you leave your lights on or anything.

He is just saying the key in the ignition won't turn. Crank the wheel left/right hard to get it to come loose, it should twist a little bit in either direction, even if it's locked (unless you've got solid steering rack bushings). If you need to, do this while having the car roll back or forwards a little... Steering wheel has to be turned to be held off the lock point a bit to be able to turn the key.

yeah that was the problem - after I made the post I went back out to toy with it some more. I just needed to be a little more violent with it haha. It started up fine and works just the same after cleaning the engine bay. Thanks for all the help guys
