Default help with gauges

i just bought some reverse glo gauges last week and put them on i am have several small problems, first, the grey wire that http://www.americanmuscle.com/mustan...es-how-to.html tells you to connect the gauges to is not big and in the center of the headlight **** like they said, did they tell me the wrong one or what? Second i used the grey even though it was small and on the side, they workokay the gauges turn on and look great, but they dont turn off when i use the inverter switch that came with it, they just dim down??? And last and by far least in the picture http://www.americanmuscle.com/fomugt96sire.html the middle of the glo gauges are in a blue circle, mine just stay silver, is that a manufacture error or are they supposed to be silver and not blue in the middle. i will have pics up tonight after work. Any help or ideas(other than get rid of the gauges) would be greatly appreciated.

when i did mine, i used the only greyish wire and it did not work. it ended up being the huge brown one in the middle that we spliced the positive into.

when I did mine I didnt splice into a wire in the headlight ****. I spliced into the lt. blue with red stripe wire that goes into the instrunment cluster. that is your illumination wire and they worked great. Try that and your gaurunteed to be happy. Let me know.

Ok tonight i will try this, but first i will try the grey wire as suggested before hopefully one of those will work. As for the blue white wire somebody used, i dont think that i have that for mine is the 97 GT i think there was i slightly different wire layout, if not i will try your idea as well. Thanks, ill let you guys know how it turns out.

You have the same wiring as my 96GT did and thats the wire I used after researching wiring diagrams for two days and they lit right up. ( the light blue with red stripe ) Try this and you are garunteed success. And FYI try them at night or in your garage with door shut and light off. I was pissed off for two hours about this after not being able to see my glowing gauges in the sunlight (duhhh) and make sure you adjust the brightness settings back after messing with the headlight ****. Let me know how it turns out.

its been i while but i just want to let everybody know that i got around to changing the wiring again (I tested it with a handheld so i made sure i got it right) and the light blue and red wire controls dimming feature of the gauges which is the one i used and the brown one controls the power to the gauges, either will work as it comes with a dimmer but to make it dim with your lights i would use the light blue and red wire...This is just a tip, the American muscle help was wrong hope this helps
