you do know that you havea dohc32 valve, right? you want 4V heads not 2V PI heads or GT40 heads (those are for 5.0's and 351W's).

the pushrod 289 is an older mustang engine i think from the late 60's early 70's or something like that.

you have a 281 and those heads will definitely not work.

i know nothing about 4V heads, and im sure you can find them on google.

first off with the 4v or any modular for that matter, your best bet is to p & p the heads to hell and back, and throw in a decent sized cam. nobody makes a true aftermarket head for the mod motors, so we have to do the best we can with what we have.

and by the way, for now your heads are fine. you need to focus on other parts of the engine first. cam or maybe fi. youll spend 2k on heads for almost no power. when you could have so much more for so much less. with your setup if your wanting more power id ad some N20, gears, and DRs. that'll make you wet your pants.

but as far as the heads go dont waste your money right now

Stage 3 ported heads ftw. But be ready kid they're like $2400 or something like that. And what the heck why not get two sets of stage 3 cams for like $1500. Then you'd have the baddest n/a mach one around

you know a thing or two? lol.. well ok.. see the thing is the NPI heads were standard on 98 and below year Mustang GT's, the PI head just represents a change for the 99+ PI head. The PI head is nothing to spend money on unless you have a NPI mustang. PI heads flow like bubblegum stuck to a fat womans ***. you already have 4 valves, you dont need to worry about heads. You can be a Port and polish but thats about as far as you should go right now. Your biggest need is going to be either suspension work or forced induction. Your motor will respond amazingly to forced induction, thats what id do besides the basics (lower gears if you dont like the 3.55, suspension, tb etc.)

For your app, if your not wanting to spend a whole lot on Ported heads, get the FR500 heads, they are the highest flowing (un ported) 4V head there is out there.

With only a few boltons its not worth porting your heads, the 4v heads already flow well.

concentrate on the rest of the boltons, ala midpipe, catback, gears, tires, intake boltons, and maybe some suspension work.
