Default RE: O2 sensor causing the problem??

thanks for helping me out with that one all of you except for the last guy postin' about chevys!!! Dumbass, j/k. That does make me feel better in a way but now I guess I have to find something else that could be my problem. Probably back to the MAF. I still should get new o2's but I didn't realize how much it would be and I can't pay that much right now. Does anyone know where they are cheaper? because all I could find it was like 315 bucks for all four

Exactly what code did you get?The front sensors are used to monitor (and therefore control) the air/fuel mixture, the rear sensors just monitor the efficiency of the cats and will not cause anything but the SES light coming on. If the front sensors are both toast, or if even one is really fried, then the PCM will go in to "limp" mode which makes it behave as you describe (AFAIK, I've never actually experienced it on a Mustang V-8)...

the code I got was P0156, I will probably get new o2's anyways but do you think I will be alright with just getting fronts since those control and the rear ones are basically for the cats but I don't have cats so they shouldn't matter, right??

P0156 is a rear sensor (bank 2) code, indicating bad wiring, exhaust leak, or a bad sensor. It's nota usual "no cats" code, however without converters all bets are off...

The no cats code is P0420 and P0430. I got those two bad boys right now since im to lazy to go out and buy MIL eliminators let alone crawl under and plug em in. My suggestion is get a new O2 sensor. They do go bad after a while. Just replace em all since ur car is older and has miles on it. Itll run better anyways.
