I think Seafoam is overrated. It's pretty much the same as the other cleaners as far as I can tell.
That being said,a good way to clean the intake from the IAC all the way to the combustion chamber is to get a can of spray carb cleaner and shoot it through the IAC valve. This is easily done by pulling the hose off the IAC,sticking the little straw into the hose, and pushing the hose back on the IAC valve.
Now start the engine, let it warm up,and spray away. You can use the throttle cable crank to keep the engine running if you spray a little too much. This makes the IAC work to keep the engine running and in so doing, cleans the valve inside. The intake valves also get cleaned as well as the intake ports and the outside of the injectors. The combustion chambers also benefit from the large amounts of liquid cleaner coming into the cylinders.
I'd buy a couple cans of spray cleaner and use all of it just to be sure you do a thorough job.Don't mind the smoke,it's just an added benefit of the cleaner.
I do this every six months or so just so I don't have problems.

I have a flexable funnel and I pulled one of the vacuum lines off the back of the plenum, stuck the funnel in there, and poured it in from there. I used the seafoam on my '94 lightning and saw a huge inprovement on the way the truck idled/ sound/ ran.

you can pull the line off the front-right side of the plenum; just under the iac. then use a staw or something and let it get suckedin through there a little at a time.

oh, you'll probably have to stick something between the stop screw and the thing that opens the throttle to keep the revs up
