Default Throttle Body and Intake on 1997 GT

I have a 1997 GT....motor being rebuilt as I am typing.... I also have a 1998 Cobra that I had flipped... Still have the motor was wondering If the intake and throttle body off cobra would bolt on to the GT motor and give it any more power or not? Any other pieces that may be of any importance that I could use as well????

Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you have the cobra engine, why don't you swap the entire thing over? Everything about the cobra engine is better then what you have going on in the GT.

because the cobra motor got moisture inside of it after sitting almost 2 years and needs to have machine work and rebuild parts of it i checked into it just way too much money so i ended up selling the tranny i had and got some money for just the set of heads off of it to fix my GT.... which i had a bad rod bearing so entire motor is being rebuilt now.. and upgrading some stuff and getting little more power out of it. so was just wondering if there was anything i had left on motor that would help out

Well the things that would help would be the forged crank that is in it and the aluminum block and the cylinder heads and like I said pretty much the entire engine. I can't see it being that much more to fix the cobra engine if you are already have an engine rebuilt.

The intake/head ports are a different shape and won't line up at all.

I hope you know I'm not trying to bash on you, I'm just saying that the cobra engine is better through and through. There really aren't any single pieces that you can take from the cobra engine that will benefit the gt engine. Like xmikevankuikenx said the intake won't match up to your 2v heads so that's out.

Next question on your Gt engine have you doing a PI swap to it or are you rocking the stock npi set up? If you haven't done the PI swap that would be my first suggestion.

what is the PI swap???

is that a different set of heads? if so i just dont have that kind of money to put in it right now

i am not sure the exact specs of whats being done.... think the crank is being turned 10 over and rods will be like 20 over to make a total of 30 over does that sound right? i know a whole new cam kit with everything is being put in.... 3angle valve job which is a little port on the heads right? thats about all i really know.
