Default npi/pi lifters?

ok so im gonna get a set of pi heads/cams but they dont have lifters. (he swapped them to his new heads) will npi lifters work on a pi set of heads/cams? also my motor has about 90k miles,do i need to replace timing chains and or timing chain tensioners?

i would do the timing chain tensioners while youre in there...wont hurt to do timing chains but no necessary...and i dont believe the lifters will work, i was reading something about it the other day but i cant remember where and i cant remember exactly what it said...lifters are $12 from a dealership, but that adds up quick..sorry i couldnt help

I'm gonna have to say that the lifters are the same! The DOHC ones are diff because the change of the lash adjusters. Actually, they just won't fit in the heads! You can buy a complete set of lifters on ebay for about $120 shipped. That's what I would rather than run 90kmi ones in there. Also, Mustang Salvage may have some really low mileage if not new timing chain sets. I would give them a call. They are located in Winder GA. They do some sales on Ebay as well, but I would check out their websit for many more parts as they may even have low mileage lifters as well. They are very fast and curteous. I highly reccomend them. Good luck

ok awesome, yeah i was a little un-easy about putting old worn out lifters on these heads. also i have been searching around and havnt really found anyplace that sells the chain tensioners online, any suggestion? and i was gonna go w/ the FRPP head changing kit, but will this work for a pi swap tho? it says it will work on any 4.6 2v motor, npi and pi. so my guess is yes.

one more thing, w/ a motor that has 90k on it, will the higher comp. ratio hurt my internals? i kno it has to put more tress on the rings and bearing etc etc. but would itbeenough to cause any damage in the long run? i mean i do want more power but i dont want to sacrifice reliability.

oh and about the tensioners, o'rielly's sells them for 20 bux per side. is that reasonable?
