I just picked up a 98 GT 5 speed. She has 56 000 miles and feels prety strong. Prevous to the previous owner she got a K&N and some underdrive pulleys

The car has a noise coming from the rear - One noise when I bounce the rear of the car by hand. The other noise sounds as if you left the emergency brake partially on and you moved the car backward. It is like a groan No noise once the car is moving or it is masked by the exaust ( ?)

I drove a few blocks and touched the rear rotors and they were not hot so I don't think the calipers are binding etc/

What do you guys think the noise could be? Rear end bearings or..[>:]

Also, what can I do for a tad more timing advance to help that K&N and pulleys do a better job?

regarding the sound, take it in and get it looked at. your description it too vague.

as for bumping your timing, you can get a timing adjuster from steeda or bbk, or get a tuner from sct or somthing similar.
