No his cobra doesn't need a retune for a cai, 1. it doesn't flow any better than the stock tube 2. this isn't a 2005+ you can do all the bolt ons without a tune. 3. There isn't a mustang that can lean out and blow an engine by a cold air intake tube, its been proven that they don't flow any more air than a stock tube, expecially on 2005+ cars.

Return it to stock while you are diagnosing your issues here.

First, if the car is shutting off in neutral or while coming to a stop - replace, do not clean, your idle air control valve. It's an inexpensive part that commonly fails and cleaning is a temporary fix - if a fix at all.

Next, a vacuum leak isn't going to just hurt you in 4th gear trying to mash the throttle - you'd know it at all times.

I'm going to come out and say it do NOT go for the email tunes. I have had nothing but trouble with them. And the canned tunes from the SF3 were just as bad for me. If you really need to, go to a performance shop to get it tuned. But I highly doubt your CAI is making you run that lean to make a difference.

If you buy a SCT tuner and take to a performance shop, most times they'll charge much less to tune it.

If you haven't .... check out SVT.com and post in the newedge section and ask the same question regarding fuel and tuning issues. These cars seriously need gears for low rpm power .... I'd do that ASAP!
