Can i buy a can of throttle body cleaner and use that on my 98 gt? will it harm anything? i see on the throttle body it says it has a special protective coating thats why im asking i dont want to cause any damage. let me know thanks.

 

If your going to take the throttle body off, you might want to buy a new gasket just in case it breaks, and while its off take the tps off before cleaning it..2 phillip screws hold it on..other than that soak it down and clean off with a towel a few times, i just did mine 2 weeks ago

 

i was actually meaning the cleaner that you spray in the throttle body while its on the car. you spray it in when the car is running.

 

Why would you need to clean it? As long as the air coming in is clean whats ganna get in there?

 

on some Tbs it says not to clean the inside.

 

every time i take my navigator to the dealership they tell me that my tb is dirty. i also would like to know how to clean it?
