so I drove to work today no problems. Then I come out after work(about 9 hous later) and the car starts, dies, starts, dies. I gave it some gas for about 10-15 seconds and finally it stayed on. Any ideas? It is a 96GT Automatic... THANKS!!!

i would check your battery connects, did it hessitate when starting?

no hesitation, tried a few times, started then the rpms went down, down down, and it died. This has never happened before.

i have same problem wtih my 97 gt. battery is brand new so i expected it to start and it starts, dies, starts, dies. then i give it gas for 10-15 seconds and it stays on. What is IAC? [:@]

Idle air controller.....when it goes the car will rev up then sputter out, sometimes if u hold the gas down for a few seconds the car will run and sometimes it won't.

Thanks for the advice! Car started up right away this morning... Any way I can test to make sure it is the IAC?

you can try cleaning it out or replacing it, if your car does what i described than i'm about 99 percent sure thats what it is
