Good deal, what cam are you going with? i also am uninformed when it comes to spraying these motors but 200 just seems like alot, it could never hurt to ask around.

what do you mean ask around? 200 is fine, this motor is a lot bigger than a 4.6.... 150 would be a baby shot on a 7.5L

cam specs

Adv. Duration: 288°/292°
Lift: .522''/.530''
RPM Range: 2500-5500

Unless I'm missing something, a kmember with 4.6/5.0/5.8 mounts will not bolt up to a BBF without some type of custom bracket or weird motor mount.

An AJE k-member with BBF(MU-40) mounts would be the best bet IMO.

we're fabbing up mounts...thats not a big deal

i looked into AJE, but the kit for mounts, k member, and coil overs would be 3x as much as the granatelli tubular i picked up with some jegs coil overs and custom motor mounts....theres also a guy on 460ford.com who makes mounts that attach to the heads, or i could get plates... but were just going to make our own mounts

i picked up a granatelli tubular k member for a 4.6, with a-arms for $200...its the same as the 94/95 one i have except its got an extra bar on it...going to hack the bar off of it and throw it in the car...motor should clear it fine...then my buddy says he can make mounts and that wont be an issue

heres the 94-95 with the tubular...the crossbar is bolton on so ill just unbolt it and throw the k member in... if it doesnt work ill use the 94/95 thats in the pic

Not to start anything here, but looking at those pistons, that looks like an old 300hp truck motor. I dont see how fresh rings, a cam, and ported heads will get you 450hp. That whole setup is like 300lbs heavier than a 4.6.

This is an awesome idea, but you'd be faster with a blown 2v, you know that right?

blown 2v would be blown up before it ever hit the power levels im aiming for

and if you dont think a h/c/i 460 is capable of 450hp, then you need to go research some more

i have a full race port job on the heads, a 500 lift cam, decent intake, and a 750 carb...that is good for 400-450 at the wheels... and even more torque.... i really dont care about how much it makes on paper, but im aiming for low 12s without spray

im building the exact setup the guy who helped me build it was using and he made plenty of power...the car should be running low 12s on motor, and then 11s with the 200 shot

i could have bought a blower for the price of the swap, but then i would have needed to buy a new shortblock.... for the cost of a shortblock i could punch this motor out to a 557, which is the plan once the swap is finished....the motor going into it is just a play around motor, it wont be staying...thats why i bought 2 of them... once the swap is done, im building a stroker

the weigh gain doesnt bother me, ill be losing some of it anyways....as it sits now and how it will sit after the swap, i plan to only gain 250lbs
