4k to spend...

Is this car your DD? If so, I would not go with a KB too much tq down low. For a weekend cruiser absolutely and with a 4K budget you will only find a used one. I recommend a procharger as they come already innercooled and driving under 3K you will not be in boost meaning you have driveability when it rains, etc.

oh and as for rain its not a problem either. I get told all the time "you must have trouble driving in the rain" A twinscrew s/c is not like most people think. I believe people are confused about how this thing really works. If you dont mash the throttle the car is just a normal driving mustang.

it made 351hp
heres the 9psi dyno
it made 405 hp.
so the 3 psi on thier website made 54hp differance. you dont have your basic bolt ons, which is why i said 310-330 for a 6psi kit.

actually you are not totally correct. I drive every day and never go into boost. The release of boost is controlled by the throttle. I can drive all day long and my guage stays in the vacuum range. now if I open the throttle up too much then the boost kicks in. After you drive with a twinscrew for a while you know where your throttle needs to be for dd. I love my kb for daily driving and have no problems. I slowly accelerated to 3k rpms yesterday and the boost gauge needle stayed at 0 however when i punched it a little bit more it quickly let the boost in. I have been playing around with it allot lately since I intercooled it. The guages are now my best friends. What I like most of all is that when I want the boost its their...just a throttle press away.

+100^^^
I drive mine everyday and do not have any issues. The KB is super reliable and supplies the power when you want it. All you have to do is punch it.

actually i said for 6 psi around 310-330, becuase of your mods. heres a dyno chart from kenne bell running 6psi, keep in mind the numbers are on their test cars which have their complete set and bolt ons.

I would Spend 2k on a Used S/c KIt and put 2k into your Suspension. It would suck to have a 400hp car thats slower down the 1/4 than a 300rwhp car that can Actually Launch. Now if your just into Street Racing(Roll Racing) go ahead and get the new Expensive one. just your not going to much besides SPIN the tires..
Good Luck with your Choice!!! Either one will be cool!!!

OP go with the I/C Kenne bell you will be much better off like others stated. yea the 6psi is a start but you will always want more power like i do right now. 330rhp will get old quick so i suggest saving some more and try to install the kit yourself. The 9psi kit is 4999.99 plus 128 in shipping is all you need to spend in that regard, the tune is pretty good. you should be around 360-380rhwp with a catback, and the stock cai and maf.
