Over the years I have painted numerous wheels with it (the graphite color is nice) and used the silver DC wheel paint on my center console. It is very durable.

@ Soldier GT: Let me think about that. It might be nice to have a spare set around, maybe for different tyre combos.

@ Cliffyk: Thanks again dude. What steering wheel is that? Nice touch with the plain ivory shift ball; that's my all-time favorite, trying to figure out how to put one on my auto.

Rather than hijack yet another thread here's a link to one that got carried away before¹.

Here's the other **** I use as the mood strikes, in fact it's on there now--but my favourite is the cue ball (it's real ivory too, from Belgium):

¹ - Actually I kind of like it when threads turn after the initial issue has been either resolved or beat to death--makes it like a real BS session where you sit around drinking beer and fixing the world's problems one at a time...

Same here! That T handle is the exact **** I had in my Camaro... I miss driving an old car.

I'm thinking I might grab the UPR auto shift ball, then disassemble it and paint it with semigloss ivory and then clearcoat and wet sand it. Probably the closest I am getting to that with the shaft used in the Mustang auto (unless you know of a workaround; there's ALWAYS a workaround).

To paraphrase Prissy (Butterfly McQueen) in Gone with the Wind,

"I don't know nothin' 'bout no slushboxes..."

However as you said there is always a way--a creative sort with a small machine shop could make an adapter--check your local trade/high schools, they are always looking for interesting projects.
