I would LOVE to, but I just don't have the cash right now. I've been spending wayyy to much money on the stang recently.

I'd love the JL stealth box, but as above, it's too much money. I'll be looking around for a used one but I doubt I'll find one. If anyone finds one for sale shoot me a PM!!!

If you make a custom box or buy a stealth box and tuck it to the side. then mount an amp on the other side, you have full function of the trunk and can still use the system with the back seat down or not.
Agreed, which is why I wanted to go with an aftermarket amp mounted on the back of the seat.

Mach 1000 is fine, I just don't want to lose trunk space from the amp rack, if I can run the Mach 1000 subs with a wimpy aftermarket amp I'm all for it.

So far the Mach 1000 has very few downsides and has that perfect blend of lows/mids/highs that's really hard to get when going aftermarket and having to piece it all together. The only downside to the Mach 1000 is sometimes when the system hits peak wattage it seems to have an odd kind of fade or break in the sound quality. Really hard to describe and almost unnoticable unless you know to look for it as it only last less than 1/4 of a second. Asside from that it's perfect for most peoples bass wants/needs. To me it's about the music, what's the point of bass if you can't hear the damn song that's playing.

Agreed, I think it will be perfect for what I want. Nice system without breaking the bank.

cheapest option and most usable trunk room is to build your own box and pick up some subs/amp from craigslist or ebay....

you can find audio stuff ALL OVER craigslist. The sub I put in my GT was around $80 i got at a flea market and the mono amp for it was $80 off craigslist barely used with all paperwork in original box.

think it through, make a simple rectangular box with the correct volume for the sub and wire it up. It won't be competition worthy but for what the average joe wants...it will be just fine.

Simple Box/rectangular designs that work perfectly fine:

Haven't read this whole thread....but I have the MACH1000 and while it sounds awesome, I have VERY little trunk space. The amp rack and placement of the two subs prohibit me from putting anything in my trunk. And by anything I mean nitrous bottle. LOL

Put it dead center. Like a pearl in a shell. You can't use your trunk now so might as well make it completely useless lol

Yup, the trunk is pretty much useless with nothing in it, nvm stereo equipment haha. That's why I want to still be able to fold my rear seats down.

If money is an issue and you still want to retain trunk space, either build your own box and pick up a sub/amp cheap, or hope you can find a stealth box used and cheap.

JL stealth box would be PERFECT, but why does everyone keep saying you can find them cheap. I can't find **** haha.

EDIT: other then the 460 amps getting in the way, anyone know if I can just relocate them?
