You need some pics with the hood open, that doesn't look THAT bad but yes odds are it will be totaled out. I don't think it's not fixable though, hard to tell though from those pics.

Nah guys, it wouldn't have been worth it to me to fix her, because it would be very difficult to someday sell the vehicle. I had already bought the car and had her blow up 3 months later. I salvaged the vehicle and got $10,500. I guess I'm moving on to a new vehicle, right now I have a Chevy Cruze for a rental car... FML. haha

They gave you $10,500 for a 2000 GT?

Yes, the quote started at $8,800, then with my deductible they planned to give me $8,300. However, at the tow shop they informed me that it is a good idea to tell the insurance about any "add-ons" such as new tires or dealership-certified engine/transmission related rebuilds and replacements AFTER the quote is given. So I waited for a hard copy of their offer, then faxed them additional paperwork stating that Ford had installed a new engine. This, along with new tires and a new clutch, bumped up the insurance's offer. I was hoping to get more, because I paid $6,000 to have the engine and clutch installed, but I took the offer anyway because I figured if I fixed the car, I'd NEVER be able to sell it, especially if it had frame damage.

Also, it said on the paperwork that the average 2000 GT is supposed to have like 128,000 miles on it or something. Mine had 75,000. Pretty sure that had a lot to do with the valuation considering NADA does not take into consideration the mileage of a vehicle when evaluating a car's worth.

mileage absolutely plays a factor. When I write total losses at work I look at mileage, and we do TONS of condition ratings that play a huge role as well. Also, salvage value can swing the settlement a good 1-2k sometimes. I think thats a awesome price for it man, start fresh

You should buy the car back, and use it for parts

my 5.0 got hit, the insurance totaled it, cut me a check for 4150, and then i bought it back for 130$, just to resell it the next day for 1300 more lol

You should now take that money and bury it in a safe surrounded by concrete walls

Take the money and bury it in small jars all over your back yard.... and write a little treasure map so's you'll always remember where to find it.
